Shell Valley to Celebrate 35th Anniversary

In 2006, Shell Valley will celebrate its 35th year of operation. The company was founded in 1971 as Shell Valley Fiberglass, Inc., Shell Valley Motors, Inc., and Shell Valley International. In 1997, Columbus, Nebraska resident Rich Anderson acquired the companies and consolidated them into Shell Valley, located in rural Platte Center, Nebraska. In 1999, he purchased Midstates Classic Cars & Parts located in Hooper, Nebraska, and brought it into the Shell Valley corporate umbrella. In 2003, he purchased molds and fixtures for a Daytona Coupe from R&D Design Concepts in Omaha, Nebraska. The company has a sales office (Shell Valley East) in Willimantic, Connecticut to serve its east coast customers and has recently established dealer networks across the United States and in the United Kingdom.

Primary products manufactured at the Platte Center, Nebraska facility include fiberglass Jeep replacement bodies, custom fiberglass work, and replica kits of the Cobra, Cheetah, "A" Roadster, Daytona Coupe, and Jaguar C-Type. Recently, the company entered into business relationships with Active Power, Inc., Spyderwerks, Inc., and Dragon Motor Cars to produce fiberglass bodies and chassis. The company also manufactures, purchases and distributes street rod and kit car parts and accessories to dealers.

Under Anderson's ownership, Shell Valley has taken a lead in the kit car industry, supporting and promoting issues of interest to the industry and its customers. The company has won many significant industry awards for its products and manufacturing practices, including awards at the annual Knott's Berry Farm A.H.A. Car Show. Its Daytona Coupe Series II premiered in the United Kingdom in 2004, winning Car of the Show at the National Kit & Performance Car Show at Donington Park. Additionally, the company was presented the Columbus Telegram Power & Progress Small Business of the Year Award in 1999 and in 2001 was awarded the S.B.A.'s Small Business for the State of Nebraska. These awards were based on accomplishments in innovative management, unique products and services, opportunities and programs for staff developing, use of technology, community service, and company growth.

The company will celebrate its 35th anniversary with various customer events across the United States and with special offers throughout the year.
