Shell Valley Companies, Inc. of Platte Center premiered the first of its newest replica model, the 1964 Daytona Coupe Series II, at the National Kit & Performance Car Show at Donington Park in England September 4-5. Featured were the kit care industry’s major players from the U.K. The top three European kit car magazines praised the car and will be producing feature article; totalkitcar.com awarded it the car of the show among very tough competition.
The replica kit, produced by Shell Valley following its purchase of the Daytona assets from R & D Design Concepts, was sold to Ian Briggs, owner of British American Daytonas, an offshoot of British American Engines. Shell Valley’s owner Rich Anderson was present for the premiere of the completed car.
“Witnessing the impeccable quality and pride that goes into the cars displayed at the Donington Show certainly makes us aware of the importance of taking quality to the next level,” Anderson said. “We felt honored to have been recognized among that type of competition and hope to feature our other replica models at future European shows.”
